This training was developed to provide instruction to local agency staff to ensure that project operations are in full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all applicable Federal Regulations concerning Civil Rights. This training also provides basic cultural competency and confidential communications training.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

- Interpret when, where and how the Nondiscrimination Statement is used within the WIC Program

- Identify why the WIC Program collects ethnic and racial data
- Define ethnicity and race
- Collect and document data per USDA and State requirements

- Distinguish a civil rights complaint from a program complaint
- Outline the process of filing a complaint
- Describe the right to a fair hearing

- Identify the 3 types of Civil Rights reviews
- Identify the process for resolving violations or findings
